Eléowyn

Real Life:
In real life most people know me as Julie, although two daughters call me Mom, and two granddaughters call me Grammy (well one doesn't talk yet but I know she's thinking it). Add to that my two Plaza alter-egos, Eléowyn and Lady Éowyn, and I will answer to almost anything. My Tolkien fanaticism dates back many years - to my senior year in high school to be exact - which was some 34 years ago now. A teacher suggested I read The Hobbit, which I did and enjoyed, but I found true love when I read The Lord of the Rings. I don't recall how many times I read the books in those days, but it was quite a few. Then my passion took back seat to raising a family for a number of years, until finally, after a divorce and then an empty nest, my time was my own again, and I have returned to frequently reading through the books, only to pick up The Fellowship again as soon as I have finished Return of the King. When I'm not reading, on the Plaza, or playing with my granddaughters, I work for my state's Department of Justice, trying to rid the world (or my corner of it anyway) of businesses that don't play fair.
Plaza Life:
I discovered the Plaza around the end of February 2003, quite by accident. (Well, ok, I was actually looking for pictures of Viggo.) I didn't put a lot of thought into my Plaza name, because at the time I was just using it to make posts in the movie and books forums. I was not confident enough to post in the lore forums, and the rest of the Plaza just baffled me. After a week or two I found my way into P&FF, where I essentially resided for the next few months, eventually posting my very first poetry ever. I had chosen the Riddermark as my kingdom from the beginning, but I rarely visited there. After making friends with a few Riders through P&FF, I finally began participating in a few activities there, and it was not long before I felt totally at home and could not imagine living in any other kingdom.
I joined the cavalry, soon rose to the rank of Feldmarshal of the Westmark, but am now a retired veteran. In April of 2004, I was given an opportunity I could never have imagined over my many years of Tolkien fanaticism: I was offered, and accepted, the role of Éowyn, one of the rulers of the Riddermark. For two years, I was privileged to serve the members of the kingdom, until I stepped aside in April of 2006 to allow someone else to live that dream. Now I serve as the admin Nienna, serving all the members of the Plaza. But my heart still resides in the Riddermark.
