I spent most of my childhood living in Salford with my family. From a very early age, I was encouraged to read and to be creative, and I have always enjoyed books. I was a very active child, heavily involved in the Scout and Guide association, and I learned many things during the various different activities that I was involved in while I grew up, including archery, kayaking, climbing, fire-lighting and survival skills, backwoods cooking, horse-riding, hiking, orienteering and skills with knives and axes. When the LOTR films came out, I was completely inspired, and it was in fact watching the extended behind the scenes DVDs that inspired me to become a director and actress. Having read the books not long after I saw the first film, I became completely hooked on the world on Tolkien and have been a devoted fan ever since. I studied Performing Arts at a very professional and active college, being involved in various different theatre productions as both a performer and a technician. I studied stage combat, and it was there that I was taught how to use combat weaponry such as swords and knives. I discovered the plaza during this time, and was hooked from the off. In fact, sometimes its hard to stop thinming about the world of the plaza, and I barely shut up about it now. I have left college, and I am now studying Media and Performance and Salford University with the hope of going on into to become not just a performer, but also a director, and possibly editing, filming, scriptwriting, etc. But the plaza has become, and will remain, a very important part of my life, and every minute I have spent here has been worth it. |

The name Fyrefly is actually not my true Rohirrim name, but is instead a nickname given to me. My true name is Theodwyn, and I was given this name by my parents because I was their only child. The name Fyrefly was given to me after my village was attacked by orcs and burned down. As far as I know, I was the only person who survived. I only escaped because my mother ordered me to ride away on my horse Battlecry to warn the other villages and get help. But all the villages nearby had already been attacked, and I became bewildered and lost my way. I travelled for months, until I finally came to a cavalry outpost on the outskirts of the Eastmark. When I recounted my tale, the commander said this to me: You fled all you knew with the speed of the wind And the flames pursuing your way. But when seasons have passed, you'll return with all haste And the sun in the wildfire of day. With the blaze of the battle aflame in your blood You'll return with all speed to your home, To avenge those you lost and all that is good So their spirits forever may roam Through the land of the Mark that forever is green Where the noble and free do abide. Where you'll ride o'er the plains with the wind in your face And the sun watching you as you ride. Until the day when you take back your name With the sun riding high through the sky, You shall roam through the land that forever in green. With a name that I give you: Fyrefly. With my new name, I travelled to Meduseld to begin my training for the cavalry, for this is where I knew I was destined to be. I have served with the cavalry ever since, doing all I can for my kingdom and loyal to my king and country. I hope one day to return to my home to avenge those I lost and take back my village for the Mark. |
