I, as all my family before me, was born in the town of Dale, and a direct descendant of the Bard who slayed Smaug the dragon. As such I can understand the speech of the thrushes, and have my own thrush Danrun with me. When I was but a baby, my mother and father decided that life in Dale had no excitement, so started travelling west to the edge of the Wilderness and beyond. While crossing the Misty Mountains my father was killed defending my mother and I against a stray goblin, and my mother ran, just managing to escape, though without the pack of food my father carried. That night she changed my plain Dale-ish name to Starfire, as she looked to the night sky and thanked the gods for her life and mine. She staggered to the borders of Rohan, where she was picked up by a patrol of Riders and carried to Edoras. The lack of food and endless travelling had taken its toll on my mother. Though healers treated her night and day, my mother died and I was left to be brought up as a child of Rohan by a caring foster family. I now am part of the Rohan Cavalry, I own the Starfire Stud and Training Centre, and whenever possible I host special events like the Tournament of Honour. Hope you like, might explain having a brunette in the midst of you pale-haired folks. A lot has happened considering I’m only in the winter of my 13th year! |
