-Frumgar lead the Éothéod from their previous home between the Gladden and the Carrock to the land called Éothéod, near to the sources of the Anduin.

-Fram slew Scatha, the great dragon of Ered Mithrin and won his treasure.

-Birth of Eorl the Young, the first King of Rohan.

-Léod was killed when he tried to mount Felaróf, the first of the Mearas and later mount of Eorl.
-Eorl became Lord of the Éothéod.

-Eorl became the first King of Rohan.
-Eorl lead an army to Gondor to fight in the Battle of Celebrant. The Northern Army, with was lead by Cirion had advanced against the Balchoth, but the enemies forces were reinforced by orcs from the Misty Mountains, which surrounded the Northern Army. As the invaders prepared to attack, the Éothéod arrived from the north in answer to a previous request for aid, and routed the enemy. For their part in this victory, the Éothéod were given Calenardhon, the area of Gondor between the Anduin and the Isen, which later became known as Rohan.
-Eorl swore the Oath of Eorl to Cirion, Steward of Gondor, stating the he and his heirs would aid Gondor during their times of need. The token of this call for aid was the Red Arrow.

-Birth of Brego, the second King of Rohan.

-Birth of Aldor the Old, second son of Brego and third King of Rohan.

-Eorl was slain in battle with the Easterlings in the Wold. His became the first mound raised there. His mount, Felaróf was also laid there.
-Brego becomes the second King of the Mark.
-Brego drove the enemy out of the Wold, and Rohan was not attacked again for many years.

-Brego completed the Great Hall of Meduseld.
-At the feast held to celebrate the completion of the hall Brego’s eldest son, Baldor vowed to tread the “Paths of the Dead” and he did not return. His body was found by the Grey Company during the War of the Ring.

-Brego died of grief for the loss of his eldest son, Baldor.
-Aldor becomes the third King of Rohan. During his reign the Rohirrim increased in number, and drove out the last of the Dunlendish people that lingered east of the Isen, and Harrowdell and other mountain valleys were settled.

-Birth of Brytta, the eleventh King of Rohan. He was known as “Léofa” (“Beloved”) by the Rohirrim because of his generosity.

Helm Hammerhand slew Freca with one blow of his fist when he insulted the King for refusing to offer to marry his daughter to Freca’s son, Wulf.

2758:
-Rohan was invaded by a horde of Dunlendings lead by Wulf, the son of Helms enemy, Freca. After loosing the battle at the Crossing of Isen, Helm retreated to the Hornberg, which he held during the Long Winter. During the Dunlending invasion Fréaláf took refuge in Dunharrow with many of the Rohirrim.
-Death of Haleth, eldest son of Helm Hammerhand. He was killed whilst defending the door of Meduseld against Wulf.

2758-59:
The Long Winter, during which Rohan and Eriador were snowbound.

-Helm Hammerhand froze to death during a night sortie, and so came the end of the First Line of Kings.
-Death of Háma, youngest son of Helm Hammerhand. He was lost in the snow whilst on a foraying mission from the Hornberg during the Long Winter.
-Fréaláf becomes the tenth King of Rohan. With the aid of Gondor he drove the Dunlendings out of Rohan.

-Brytta becomes the eleventh King of Rohan. During his reign Rohan was troubled by orcs driven from the Misty Mountain by the War of the Dwarves and the Orcs.

-Folcwine sent an army commanded by his twin sons, Fastred and Folcred to the aid of Gondor in the Battle of the Crossing of Poros. Both were killed during the battle.

-Fengel becomes the fifteenth King of Rohan.

-Birth of Thengel, the sixteenth King of Rohan.

-Due to strife with his father Fengel, Thengel left Rohan to live in Gondor.

-Birth of Théodred, son of Théoden and Second Marshal of the Mark. Elfhild, wife of Théoden dies giving birth to him.

-25th February Théodred is slain during the First Battle of the Fords of Isen.
-26th February Éomer hears of the decent of the orc band from Emyn Muil.
-27th February Against Théodens orders, Éomer sets out from the Eastfold to pursue the orcs.
-28th February Éomer overtakes the orcs just outside Fangorn Forest.
-29th February Éomer’s Éored attack and destroy the orcs at sunrise.
-Death of Théoden.
-30th February Éomer meets Aragorn on his return to Edoras.
-2nd March Gandalf arrives in Edoras and heals Théoden. The Rohirrim ride west against Saruman resulting in the Second Battle of the Ford of Isen in which the forces of the Rohirrim were commanded by Erkenbrand.
-3rd March The Rohirrim retreat to Helms Deep, and the Battle of the Hornberg begins.
-4th March Théoden and Gandalf depart Helms Deep heading for Isengard.
-5th March Théoden reaches Isengard at noon, and parley begins with Saruman.
-6th March Théoden sets out from the Hornberg to Harrowdale.
-9th March Théoden comes to Dunharrow.
-10th March The Muster of Rohan. The Rohirrim rude from Harrowdale.
-11th March Eastern Rohan is invaded from the north.
-12th March Théoden camps under Minrimmon.
-13th March Théoden arrives in the Drúadan Forest.
-14th March The Rohirrim, lead by the Púkel-Men come to the Grey Wood.
-15th March The Rohirrim arrive at and aid in the victory of the Battle of Pelennor Field. Théoden is killed by the Witchking when his arrow pierces Snowmane, who then lands on the King. Éomer becomes the eighteenth King of the Mark and first King of the Third Line. Éowyn slays the Witchking, but this injures her and she is taken into Gondor into the Houses of Healing where she is healed by Aragorn and meets her future husband, Faramir.
-18th March The Host of the West leaves Minas Tirith. Éomer and the Rohirrim are amongst the host.
-19th March The Host reached the Morgal-Vale.
-23rd March The Host passes out of Ithilien.
-24th March The Host camps in the Desolation of the Morannon.
-25th March The Host is surrounded on the slag hills, but are saved when the One Ring was destroyed.
-18th July Éomer returns to Minas Tirith
-19th July The funeral escort of Théoden sets out.
-7th August The escort comes to Edoras.
-10th August The funeral of King Théoden.
