The Newbie Hall

Packed with information that encompasses the whole of the Mark, this thread is recommended for all newbies newly arrived to the Kingdom, as well as those of other lands wishing to know us a bit more. Here new members can introduce themselves, be greeted and counseled by their fellow Riders, as well as ask any and all questions that they might be having--no matter what the topic. But it is not only restricted to these, for any Rider, at any time, no matter how long they have been part of Rohan, may pass by and voice their doubts on a subject that they might not understand, or even offer help to another. A relaxed and friendly OOC thread for everyone alike.

The New and Improved Rider Survey

This is designed as a questionnaire that encompasses the life of one's character on the Plaza, as well as a separate section on the real life of those behind the name we all know. Plaza-life questions range from age, occupation and heritage, to what the dress sense of this particular Rider may be. While the Real-life section gives everyone a chance to get to know each other a little better when it comes to who they really are. Though it may seem like the total of 59 questions is quite a bit to answer, they go by quite quickly as one jots down the information. And can even be quite fun as we delve into what to write.

Dryhtsele of Histories

Surely there is a fascinating tale of who you are, what you experienced in your life and how you came to find yourself in the Riddermark! Tell us all about it and it will be saved in the annals of the Mark. An exemplary post can be found in the thread underneath the opening post, just to give you a general idea of where this thread is headed. This thread gives you a good opportunity to build your IC character on the Plaza. You many imagine your family, what happened to you and your family during your childhood, what you did once you became grown-up and everything else. The limit is only your own creativity. This thread is also a nice reference for yourself, and you may always add another chapter to your history as soon as new events have come to pass.

The Rohirric Hall of Arms

South of Meduseld’s green hill an inquisitive traveller might chance upon tall men of The Royal Guard. These stern and liveried warriors bar the way to The Cavalry Courtyard, home of Rohan’s elite mounted troopers. But those who come with a storey to tell - tales of chivalrous deeds and feat of arms - will find themselves escorted to a tall wooden structure where waits a scarred and ancient wigend, Ælfred the One-Eyed, curator of The Hall of Arms. The Hall of Arms is home to many artefacts and weapons which bear witness to The Mark’s long and illustrious history: the sword of Eorl, the great horn of Helm, the notched blades and shriven spears of Kings, knights, noblemen and the lowly. Warriors and citizens of the Mark are invited to present their arms, and mayhap to share a pot of tea, whilst Ælfred records the lineage and histories of their respective weapons. Visitors can opt to RP in this thread or, if they prefer, to present a factual synopsis of their weapons.

The Seventh Show Ring

This thread is where each and every Rider of Rohan can go to describe their horse or horses. Every member of the Riddermark kingdom is entitled to one official horse, and to get that horse you need only post in this thread describing it, and it will be added to the records. Some riders have more than one horse, which is also allowed, although these others are not their official horses. A list of riders and their horses is included in the thread, just in case you were wondering which equine friend belonged to who.

Rider Character Development - Family

The development of one's character doesn't normally happen overnight. The many experiences that one faces during RPGs help to flesh out who we are as individuals. Sometimes, though, we bring with us ideas and attitudes and opinions that were already in place, things that our birth-families bestowed upon us. This thread is meant to help make part of one's character development a little more Rider-centric, especially focusing on why a resident of Rohan might think and act the way they do, and what influence our birth-families had on us. So whether you be a resident of the Riddermark or are building a Rohirric NPC, feel free to peruse the questions and submit your answers.

Rohirric Nicknames

When you get tired of your name paying tribute to a certain boy band of the mid 90s, and would prefer to have something that fits more into a Middle Earth setting, Rohirric Nicknames is the first place you should head. With a few guidelines, the 'translators' can provide a new, fancy, name which you can proudly display for years hence... Or until you decide to pay homage to another boy band.

Rohirrisms

Sometimes great moments of hilarity occur on the plaza and on IM with your plaza friends. Rohirrisms is the place to kick back and read through other moments of brilliance and comicality. Feel free to post your own or just read through those of others. Laughter always ensues!

Boogie Knights in Fancy Shiny New Armour

The concept of this thread is simple but fun - think of a real-life song and give it a Middle-earth twist. This can be done as serious or silly as possible. Just for reference of the original song, please include the original title and artist of the song in your post.
